Even Shakespeare only used around 55,000 different words in all of his works. Mind you, he did actually invent quite a few of them. To get a good mastery of English, you do need to expand your vocabulary as much as possible. The more words you know, the better your English will be. The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is an essential tool for any student or teacher of the English language. Developed in the 19th century, the IPA provides a standardized way to represent the sounds of speech in written form. I will explain each word's definition and provide a sentence to better understand its usage. Our focus will be on anatomy, so get ready to learn about different parts of the human body. Without further ado, let's get started with the pronunciation of the words. Abdominal cavity means, the space within the abdomen that contains the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and other organs. Here is an example sentence using the words, Abdominal cavity. "The patient's abdominal cavity was distended due to a build-up of fluid." Abdominal wall means, the muscles and bones that form the outer boundary of the abdominal cavity and protect the organs within it. Here is an example sentence using the words, Abdominal wall. "The patient had a hernia in the abdominal wall that required surgery." Alimentary tract means, the organs and structures that food passes through during digestion, including the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine. Alveolus means, small air sacs in the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place. Here is an example sentence using the word, Alveolus. Dermal means, pertaining to the skin, the largest organ in the body which protects against external damage, helps to regulate body temperature, and produces vitamin D. Here is an example sentence using the word, Duct. "The patient had a blocked duct in their mammary gland that required surgery to remove." Ear means, the organ of hearing and balance in the human body, consisting of the ear canal, eardrum, and inner ear structures. Here is an example sentence using the word, Ear. Epidermis means, the top layer of cells that form the outer surface of the skin, which provides a barrier against external damage and infection. Here is an example sentence using the word, Epidermis. Epithelium means, the layer of tissue that covers the surface of internal organs and lines the body cavities, which helps to protect the underlying structures and regulate the movement of fluids. Neck means, the part of the body connecting the head and the trunk, which contains the spinal cord, blood vessels, and nerves. Here is an example sentence using the word, Neck.
